| Okay, so I know it has been ages since I have posted on here, but I am working on things! This is what I can tell you: 1. Carmen George as well as A. Egan are working on designing our logo. Nothing has come into fruition as of yet, but the moment it does I will be posting a few ideas on here and we will put it to a vote. Hey, if I don't agree with you I'll just cheat 2. Steven Hobson of SDHMEDIA has offered his services to create our website. Hopefully this will lead to a more streamlined blog as well as newsletter mailout. 3. The Articles of Incorporation are filled out and sitting in an envelope. Just waiting for money to magically appear in my bank account so I can send them away. 4. Forms for Charity Status are waiting for me to be inspired to write some long winded, paragraph length, really eloquent BS. Hahaha. I'm trying, I'm trying. Life is so busy in spring. The trees are budding and bursting into life, the perennials are showing their little heads, baby deer are standing in the mist, canker worms are already green and dangling. Enjoy the spring and enjoy eachother! | | |
| Thanks to my wonderfully thoughtful bestest boy-friend Jonny, Witaskiwin Sanctuary received its first ever donation. Here's to many many more! | | |
| APRIL 29, 2007 is the tentative date for the first of many Volunteer Meetings for Witaskiwin Sanctuary! If you are on the mailing list you should have already received an email in regards to this. If for some reason you are NOT on the mailing list, please contact me at karmyhnj@hotmail.com to RSVP to the event and ADD yourself to said list. I hope to hear from ALL of you soon. | | |

| When my partner Catie and I met nearly 8 years ago, she was an avid meat eater and swore that she would ALWAYS eat meat. Joke was on her when she met me. I am an argumentative person and I made her see the error of her ways . She became a vegetarian a few years back after "meeting her meat" and realizing that a cow is a pig is a dog is a life. She could no longer look at meat and see food, but death instead. I was so proud that not only she made that realization, but also that I made her see it. You don't think that you being a vegetarian makes a difference, but meat eaters consume 59 animals a year. They contribute to the death of 59 animals. By changing just ONE person, I saved 59 lives. So, after becoming a vegetarian and sticking with it for a few years, she has realized that vegetarianism, while noble and a step, is not the ultimate goal in helping animals. On May 1st, 2007 Catie will be joining me on her life journey as a vegan! I, again, am so proud of her. From a meat eater to a caring vegan consumer in just 8 short years. If only more could make such a change. We, our pets, and soon to be our children (once born, hahaha) will all contribute to a utopian society that could be possible. I hope you can all consider making such a change. The animals will thank you for it. | | |
